A Finite Infinity
If I open my eyes, will I have seen?
If I open my ears, will I have heard?
If I clear my thoughts, will I have found silence?
I can tread lightly on this ground if I so please,
and thus allow my being to be nothing more than air holding a certain shape,
in my aging body.
It's all going to crumble someday.
No question about it.
Yet nothing crumbles a soaring spirit.
The finite nature of life can teach us a lesson,
and allow us to live each moment with infinite passion.
No curse of old age can rob a soul of it's innate magic.
It's cause for gratitude, you know -
to be aware of that magic within.
Nurture it and feed it the juicy berries that line your own sacred forest.
As I displace the earth's dirt with my shoes,
I will exercise this divine right to choose my aura.
Through times of light and dark.
There is solace in the quest.
