Through the Eyes of a Child

Through the Eyes of a Child

Step into the world through the eyes of a child.
The dust on your shoes is a canvas before you,
while your finger holds all colors and strokes of expression.
You may have a seat here or have a seat there.
Either destination offers the same limitless opportunity.

Go for a swim through the eyes of a child.
Feel yourself walking on the moon,
dancing in slow motion on the surface of the earth.
The water is cold and sends a shiver through you,
though nothing has ever made you feel so alive.

Lay in the grass through the eyes of a child.
Let curiosity take you to the clouds,
where the tango of imagination creates and destroys the images of your mind.
Play with them, mold them, experience them,
let them go and nurture the seed of new beginnings.

Pick up a stone through the eyes of a child.
It's rough in your hands from tiny mountains and valleys,
where rivers once ran by the rush of a pouring rain.
Bring it close to your eyes so you and it become one,
then wind up and hurl it as far as you can into an open field.
Feel the primal strength and energy flowing in your body.
That which longs to be realized.

Meet a new friend through the eyes of a child.
Share the unity of innocent travels,
and wander in harmony through lands unknown.
Look into the other's eyes and see a discovery.
Look into the other's eyes and laugh with joy.

Sleep now and dream through the eyes of a child.
Where nothing is bound.
Where everything is sacred.
Timeless is the twinkle of the stars in your mind.
